Blessings: Verse of the Day

BLESSINGS:

‭Genesis 12:1-4 NKJV‬
[1] Now the Lord had said to Abram: “Get out of your country, From your family And from your father’s house, To a land that I will show you. [2] I will make you a great nation; I will bless you And make your name great; And you shall be a blessing. [3] I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.” [4] So Abram departed as the Lord had spoken to him, and Lot went with him. And Abram was seventy-five years old when he departed from Haran.

To bless means to pronounce the desire for things to go well, that is well wishes and goodwill towards another. When God created Adam (man), He blessed him. That blessing came with the impartation to increase, have dominion, replenish the earth, and rule.

When God called Abram, He promised to bless him and make him a blessing to others and to the nations of the world. Today, people from all over the world are enjoying the blessings of salvation. Abram’s blessing from God was pendent on his obedience to God’s instructions to get out of his father’s house and country and to travel to the place God would show him. If we want to experience God’s blessings, we must follow His instructions.

Abram could only be a blessing to others to the extent to which he himself was blessed. If he was to be a blessing to others, he needed to allow God to bless him and make him a blessing. Without God Abram could be and do nothing in comparison to the extent to which God desired him to.

Do you want to be a blessing to others? Do it God’s way. Yes, it is true that many people are out there doing good deeds and charitable deeds among the people, without God successfully, but as Believers, we must do things in the way God desires. Let us remember that God’s work is best done with the abilities and resources God Himself supplies. If we want to be a blessing to others, and not get hurt, we must allow God to bless us and do it His way.
