THE CALL TO BECOME:
Ephesians 4:11-15 NKJV
[11] And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, [12] for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, [13] till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; [14] that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, [15] but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ—
The call to become Christ-like is one that very few respond and avail themselves to. Many desire to walk in the same power and authority but few desire to be as holy and love like Christ. This world would be different than it is now if more Christ-like individuals are walking on the earth.
Lord, I want to be more like you, is the heart cry of those who respond to the call to become Christ-like. Their desire is to talk like Christ, pray like Christ, love like Christ, be as Holy as Christ, touch people like Christ and do the things that Christ did. Their aims in life are to fear God, walk in obedience to the instructions of Christ, and please their Father in heaven.
Those who have responded to this call put on robes of righteousness, pick up their crosses, study the word of God, submit to the teaching and training of the fivefold ministers, and follow the ways of Christ through the leading of the Holy Spirit. They are devoted, loyal, loving, focused on winning souls, and faithful.
Do you want to be like Jesus? Get on your knees right now and pray: Lord, I respond to your call to become like Christ. Help me to become like Him through the power of your Holy Spirit. Thank you Father for making me like Christ. In Jesus’s name I pray. Amen!
