The Key to Fruitfulness: Verse of the Day

THE KEY TO FRUITFULNESS:

‭‭John 15:4-8 NIV‬‬
[4] Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. [5] “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. [6] If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. [7] If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. [8] This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.

The proof that we are disciples is that we bear much fruits and through this, God, the Father is also glorified. This is how important it is that we bear a lot of fruits. Jesus is giving us the keys to fruitfulness in these few verses.

He is the vine, His Father is the vinedresser, and we are the branches. Every branch in Him that doesn’t bear fruit, the Father chops away. Every branch in Him that bears fruit, the Father will prune (cut off dead or unproductive sub branches), so that they bear more fruits.

Jesus says, the key to bearing a lot of fruits is to remain in (be in intimate close fellowship with) Him and His words (His commandments and instructions through His Word and the Holy Spirit) remain in us. We must so fill our lives with His words that we remember to walk in obedience to them so that we can be fruitful (Joshua 1:8).

Are you a disciple of Christ? Are you consistently winning souls for Christ? Are the fruits of the Holy Spirit evidenced in your life? How are you impacting your community and others for Christ? Remember that an unfruitful Believer will be chopped off by the Father himself. I want to be a more fruitful Christian. Do you?

This is how the Psalms describes the person living this key.

‭‭Psalms 1:1-3 NIV‬‬
[1] Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, [2] but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night. [3] That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither— whatever they do prospers.

Beloved, let us be fruitful disciples of Christ and bring glory to God, our Father.
