THE GIFT OF INTERPRETATION OF TONGUES:
I Corinthians 12:7-11 NKJV
[7] But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all: [8] for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit, [9] to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit, [10] to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. [11] But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills.
The gift of Interpretation of Tongues is the divine ability given to some in the body of Christ to interpret a message given in Tongues into a language known to those present. This gift makes a message given in diverse kinds of tongues equal to the gift of prophecy.
This gift is also important because it makes a message spoken in tongues understandable, edifying and convicting to the unbelieving (1 Corinthians 14:22-25). This gift, like all the other gifts of the Holy Spirit, is powerful, inspiring and releases the presence of God in a gathering.
Do you sense that sometimes you understand what others are saying when their praying in tongues becomes intense or unusual? Do you desire to be an interpreter and vessel of God to bless your fellow Christians? You are on the right path. You are an essential gift to the body of Christ to compliment others with the divine gift of diverse kinds of tongues.
Those with this powerful gift demonstrate how important and dependable we are to each other in the body of Christ. Without an individual with this gift, an individual with an important message for an assembly of Believers must sit silently, talking to himself and God (1 Corinthians 14:26-28)!
Beloved, let’s desire this gift. Let us allow God to use us to restore this missing link in our gatherings.
