OVERCOMING THE BATTLES OF LIFE:
Ephesians 6:10-13 NKJV
[10] Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. [11] Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. [12] For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. [13] Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
God wants us to understand that He knows the battles we fight are real. He also wants us to understand that through Christ we have overcome all these forces of darkness and we are well equipped to deal with them victoriously whenever and wherever they show up against us. As Believers in Christ we must approach every challenge from a winning point of view.
Friends, the battles that we fight in life are not against flesh and blood. Our battles are against four categories of evil forces. These are principalities, powers, the rulers of the darkness of this age, and spiritual hosts of wickedness in heavenly places. As formidable as these spirits are, God wants us to know and understand that they are no match against us because Christ, who is with us, has already overcome them.
So, you and I must never be afraid and become discouraged when we go through challenges. We are already winners! We are in the secret place of the Most High God and he cannot touch us. All you and I need to do is to be STRONG in the Lord and in the POWER OF HIS MIGHT.
When we are afraid and discouraged, the enemy has been successful in luring us out of the secret place of the Most High and we cannot win. Those who win life’s battles use each challenge they face to strengthen themselves in God and grow deeper in fellowship with Him. These are the ones who go from victory to victory. They are strong in faith and courageous in life because they know their God.
Are you strong in the Lord? How do you see the challenges you are facing in life today? How are your inner and outward attitudes in the light of these challenges? Those who overcome life’s challenges speak and behave differently and with confidence in God. Be encouraged today with these two examples.
I Samuel 17:32, 36-37 NKJV
[32] Then David said to Saul, “Let no man’s heart fail because of him; your servant will go and fight with this Philistine.”
[36] Your servant has killed both lion and bear; and this uncircumcised Philistine will be like one of them, seeing he has defied the armies of the living God.” [37] Moreover David said, “The Lord, who delivered me from the paw of the lion and from the paw of the bear, He will deliver me from the hand of this Philistine.” And Saul said to David, “Go, and the Lord be with you!”
Daniel 3:16-18 NKJV
[16] Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego answered and said to the king, “O Nebuchadnezzar, we have no need to answer you in this matter. [17] If that is the case, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and He will deliver us from your hand, O king. [18] But if not, let it be known to you, O king, that we do not serve your gods, nor will we worship the gold image which you have set up.”
Friend, fear not! You are an overcomer through Christ !
