KEY TO GOD’S BLESSINGS:
Genesis 26:2-3, 12-14 NKJV
[2] Then the Lord appeared to him and said: “Do not go down to Egypt; live in the land of which I shall tell you. [3] Dwell in this land, and I will be with you and bless you; for to you and your descendants I give all these lands, and I will perform the oath which I swore to Abraham your father.
[12] Then Isaac sowed in that land, and reaped in the same year a hundredfold; and the Lord blessed him. [13] The man began to prosper, and continued prospering until he became very prosperous; [14] for he had possessions of flocks and possessions of herds and a great number of servants. So the Philistines envied him.
The key to experiencing the blessings of God is obedience. God told Isaac to dwell in the land of Gerar and He would bless him. Isaac obeyed, sowed in that land and in that same year, reaped a hundredfold. God kept His word to Isaac, blessed him, began to increase him, and continued to increase him until he became exceedingly prosperous. So much so that the Philistines envied Him.
God told Joshua that if he would abide in His word, allow His word to abide in him and be careful to OBEY ALL that is written in His word, he would have good success and be prosperous (Joshua 1:1-9). Moses told the children of Israel that if they would diligently obey the voice of God, be careful to observe ALL GOD’S COMMANDMENTS, that ALL THE BLESSINGS OF THE LORD would come upon them and overtake them (Deuteronomy 28:1-14).
Friends, obedience to God pays. Partial obedience is no obedience at all. So let us stop choosing and picking which parts of God’s word we like to obey and neglect the others. Samuel told King Saul …..
I Samuel 15:22-23 NKJV
[22] So Samuel said: “Has the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, As in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, And to heed than the fat of rams. [23] For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, And stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of the Lord, He also has rejected you from being king.”
Do you want to experience all the blessings God has promised in your life? Then be diligent and careful to obey and follow all the instructions and all the word of God. Those who obey God will be made prosperous and successful by Him.
May God begin to bless you, the work of your hands and increase you as you learn to obey Him, until you become exceedingly prosperous like Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and Job in Jesus’s name. Amen!
