Our interceding Saviour: Verse of the Day

OUR INTERCEDING SAVIOUR:

‭Isaiah 59:16-18 NKJV‬
[16] He saw that there was no man, And wondered that there was no intercessor; Therefore His own arm brought salvation for Him; And His own righteousness, it sustained Him. [17] For He put on righteousness as a breastplate, And a helmet of salvation on His head; He put on the garments of vengeance for clothing, And was clad with zeal as a cloak. [18] According to their deeds, accordingly He will repay, Fury to His adversaries, Recompense to His enemies; The coastlands He will fully repay.

Friends, when God saw the level of evil and unrighteousness that was going on in the world He created, He did something about it. He raised a standard against it. How do you respond to the evil around you? How can you rise up and pray against unrighteousness when you enjoy the company of its people, dance to their music, and participate in some of their activities?

When the Lord rose to fight against sin and all evil on our behalf He made sure He was fully prepared for battle. He put on righteousness as a breastplate, a helmet of salvation on His head, the garments of vengeance for clothing, and was clad with zeal as a cloak. You and I must never stand to do intercession without putting on the whole armour of God. Our battle is never against flesh and blood.

‭Ephesians 6:10-13 NKJV‬
[10] Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. [11] Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. [12] For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. [13] Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

Friend, don’t go into battle unprepared and unprotected. You would end up a victim of the very thing you are praying against. Make sure you are living in the secret place of the Most High God (Psalm 91). Those who succeed in intercession follow the example set by Christ. They do intercession God’s way and so win all the time.
