The Interceding Christian 2: Verse of the Day

THE INTERCEDING CHRISTIAN 2:

‭James 5:16-18 NKJV‬
[16] Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. [17] Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed earnestly that it would not rain; and it did not rain on the land for three years and six months. [18] And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth produced its fruit.

Every Believer must learn to pray for other believers. The prayer of a believing Christian is as powerful as the prayers of Elijah. So dear Believer, pray for other believers so that we can forgive each other (Colossians 3:13), be healed of offenses and other ailments, and thereby strengthen the unity of the church.

When we pray for believers, we must look out for those who are weakened and less committed and pray that they are strengthened. We must pray that all Believers will grow in their understanding the will of God, in wisdom, and in their understanding of spiritual matters (Colossians 1:9).

We must also pray fervently in the spirit for all the Saints and especially for our leaders and ministers of God, that they will be protected, provided for, equipped, and anointed to carry on doing great works for God (Ephesians 6:18-20).

Most Believers haven’t responded yet to the call to intercessory prayers because of compromise and the lack of understanding of how powerful and meaningful our prayers can be. But the call is urgent and all must be involved. Don’t be at ease in this crucial moment. Rise up, take your place in the front lines and pray. Your prayers are more valuable and needed than you think. They must be fervent, effective, powerful and will bring much needed results. God bless you.
