HAVE A VISION:
Joshua 1:1-4 NKJV
[1] After the death of Moses the servant of the Lord, it came to pass that the Lord spoke to Joshua the son of Nun, Moses’ assistant, saying: [2] “Moses My servant is dead. Now therefore, arise, go over this Jordan, you and all this people, to the land which I am giving to them—the children of Israel. [3] Every place that the sole of your foot will tread upon I have given you, as I said to Moses. [4] From the wilderness and this Lebanon as far as the great river, the River Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, and to the Great Sea toward the going down of the sun, shall be your territory.
The second most Important thing to have in life is vision, a goal, a clear task, or something to aim at and focus on. This is so important that God Himself commissioned Joshua and gave him something to work at and to live for. Without a vision to live for, people wouldn’t know how to live and nothing to apply themselves to. As the Bible rightly says, without a vision my people perish (Proverbs 29:18).
Do you have a vision for your life? Do you have a clear goal or task to accomplish? God gave Joshua a task to accomplish. What is it that you are aiming to do and achieve? If you are not sure of what to do with your life, seek God until He responds and shows you His plan for your life (Jeremiah 29:11-14).
Friends, until we are clear about what we are doing with our lives, we are caught in a trap and our lives will be going about in circles. We need to break free from living in the short-term mode. We must live for the long-term. If all the decisions we make in life are made without a long-term goal in mind, we are missing the vital link to successful accomplishment of our goals. Every decision we make must have a link to our overall vision for life.
Let me ask again. What is your vision for your life? Those who have a vision work patiently and tirelessly until it is accomplished. Those who have a clear visible plan for their lives will receive the help they need to accomplish it.
Habakkuk 2:2-3 NKJV
[2] Then the Lord answered me and said: “Write the vision And make it plain on tablets, That he may run who reads it. [3] For the vision is yet for an appointed time; But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; Because it will surely come, It will not tarry.
Beloved, don’t give up! God is with you and He will help you to accomplish that vision.
