MORE VICTORIES IN BATTLES:
II Samuel 5:22-25 NKJV
[22] Then the Philistines went up once again and deployed themselves in the Valley of Rephaim. [23] Therefore David inquired of the Lord, and He said, “You shall not go up; circle around behind them, and come upon them in front of the mulberry trees. [24] And it shall be, when you hear the sound of marching in the tops of the mulberry trees, then you shall advance quickly. For then the Lord will go out before you to strike the camp of the Philistines.” [25] And David did so, as the Lord commanded him; and he drove back the Philistines from Geba as far as Gezer.
The key to having more victories in battles is to keep going back to God for fresh battle strategies each time a fresh war or Challenge flares up, even if it’s against the same people group, and in the same place. There is a different battle plan and strategy for every battle and challenge one will face in life.
When the Philistines gathered in Rephaim for a second time to fight Israel, David again went to inquire from God if he should go up and fight his enemies. This time, God told him not to go up against them as before. Instead, he was to encircle them from behind, wait till they hear the sound of marching on top of the mulberry trees, before attacking the Philistines in front of the mulberry trees!
This time around too, God gave Israel another resounding victory. David and his army chased the Philistines back as far as Gezer. Friends, we must never make a tradition or doctrine out of one single experience or encounter with God. God uses a different battle plan for every battle He fights.
Do you consult God every time a fresh challenge pops up in your life? Do you trust Him enough to fully obey all the instructions He gives you? Those who fully trust and depend on God will live from victory to victory. Today, I want to remind you to ……
Proverbs 3:5-6 NKJV
[5] Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; [6] In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.
