Why afflictions?: Verse of the Day

WHY AFFLICTIONS?:

Psalms 34:17-20 NKJV
[17] The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears, And delivers them out of all their troubles. [18] The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, And saves such as have a contrite spirit. [19] Many are the afflictions of the righteous, But the Lord delivers him out of them all. [20] He guards all his bones; Not one of them is broken.

The Bible warns the Believer to expect and prepare for attacks. It says many, not few, are the afflictions of the righteous but the Lord delivers him out of them all. We will all face challenges and suffer attacks because of who we are and potential in each of us, but our victory is guaranteed.

We often ask ourselves, why me? I don’t wish anyone evil and I mind my own business, why are such things happening to me? Stop wasting your time. You don’t have to do anything wrong to attract attacks. If you are rich you become a certain target for thieves and fraudsters. If you have something nice, a phone or watch that someone wants, you are a target.

Only the righteous can fulfill God’s mandate of being fruitful and multiplying, filling the earth with righteous people, subduing it, having dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds, and over every living thing. It is only the righteous that can preach the Gospel to destroy the works of the devil over humans and set them free. So, that makes you and I immediate targets for the enemy.

But we must take courage. Jesus Christ has defeated the enemy on our behalf. No matter what he brings against us, our deliverance is sure and our victory is certain. We are more than conquerors.

Colossians 2:14-15 NKJV
[14] having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. [15] Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.

Do you believe this scripture? Meditate and declare it over your life daily until you grasp its full meaning and begin experiencing it in your life. You are more than a conqueror through Christ Jesus !
