The Lord your shepherd: Verse of the Day

THE LORD, YOUR SHEPHERD:

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭23:1‭-‬3‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
[1] The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. [2] He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. [3] He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake.

If truly the Lord is your Shepherd you must not have a lack in any area of your life, you will lie down in green (flourishing) pastures, you will allow Him to lead you besides still (peaceful, calm) waters, your soul will instantly restored if it goes off balance, and you will allow Him to lead you in the paths of righteousness for His name sake.

This must be your story and mine, if truly we allow Christ to be our Lord after receiving our Salvation. This is God’s desire and King David’s testimony of God’s faithfulness. If things are not as they should be, we must look to ourselves to find out why.

Whose instructions are we living by? What kind of company do we keep? Are we at peace within ourselves and well rested? Are our emotions in turmoil all the time? And more importantly, are we always in lack? These are all indicators that we are not allowing Him to lead and shepherd us.
We must align ourselves and our lives to His words.

Those who allow God to be their Shepherd trust in Him and walk obediently to His word because they have experienced His faithfulness and therefore confidently declare:

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭23:4‭-‬6‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
[4] Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. [5] You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over. [6] Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the Lord Forever.

May this become your declaration, too, in Jesus’s name. Amen!
