First Steps to victory: Verse of the Day

FIRST STEPS TO VICTORY:

Psalms 34:17-22 NKJV
[17] The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears, And delivers them out of all their troubles. [18] The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, And saves such as have a contrite spirit. [19] Many are the afflictions of the righteous, But the Lord delivers him out of them all. [20] He guards all his bones; Not one of them is broken. [21] Evil shall slay the wicked, And those who hate the righteous shall be condemned. [22] The Lord redeems the soul of His servants, And none of those who trust in Him shall be condemned.

Now that we know that the righteous often go through afflictions, we must prepare ourselves to sail through life unimpeded by these afflictions. David, the Psalmist, and a seasoned man of war, offers us great tips to help us prevail. Those who live by these tips are sure to win the battles of life.

Firstly, he advises us to keep trusting God in the midst of our challenges and afflictions. We must never allow afflictions to affect our service, devotion, and love for God (Romans 8:35-39). Trust in God is the foundation of the faith that leads to victorious living!

Proverbs 3:5-8 NKJV
[5] Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; [6] In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths. [7] Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the Lord and depart from evil. [8] It will be health to your flesh, And strength to your bones.

Secondly, to prevail in life, we must seek God in prayer, and if necessary, add some fasting. When we are afflicted, we must run to God. We must draw closer to God even if we don’t sense Him around and there is no evidence of His presence with us. Prayer is the greatest launching tool for our weapons of spiritual warfare. That is why the Bible suggests …

James 5:13 NKJV
[13] Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing psalms.

Are you going through any challenges, hardships or afflictions? Are you having problems in your workplace, business, with your finances, studies, health, or relationships? TRUST GOD AND KEEP PRAYING UNTIL SOMETHING HAPPENS!

Proverbs 18:10 NKJV
[10] The name of the Lord is a strong tower; The righteous run to it and are safe.

The name of the Lord is your safe refuge, run into it and you will be safe and you will prevail in life.
