HOW DEEP IS YOUR KNOWLEDGE OF GOD:
I John 4:6-8 NKJV
[6] We are of God. He who knows God hears us; he who is not of God does not hear us. By this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error. [7] Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. [8] He who does not love does not know God, for God is love.
Beloved, love is the yardstick to measure our knowledge of God. If we know God, we will love Him. If we know God we will love others because God is love! Simple!
If we don’t love, we don’t know God. Period! Let me say it again, the depth of our love for God and others, tells us how much we actually know God.
Many of us have become Christians, Believers, and claim to know God, but satisfying and loving ourselves (ME) is the priority of our lives. We have got it all wrong. Knowing the God we have believed must be our number one priority. The only way we can know we are growing is to see ourselves becoming more like Him (1 John 3:1-3).
Knowing God is loving God.
Loving God is obeying His instructions
John 14:15, 21 NKJV
[15] “If you love Me, keep My commandments.
[21] He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.”
Knowing God is hearing the messengers of God (1 John 4:6).
Knowing God is loving others.
Now, let’s hear the conclusion of this matter.
I John 4:9-11 NKJV
[9] In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. [10] In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. [11] Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.
