THE REWARD OF FAITHFUL SERVICE:
Luke 16:9-12 NLT
[9] Here’s the lesson: Use your worldly resources to benefit others and make friends. Then, when your possessions are gone, they will welcome you to an eternal home. [10] “If you are faithful in little things, you will be faithful in large ones. But if you are dishonest in little things, you won’t be honest with greater responsibilities. [11] And if you are untrustworthy about worldly wealth, who will trust you with the true riches of heaven? [12] And if you are not faithful with other people’s things, why should you be trusted with things of your own?
Faithful service does not often yield quick rewards but it is certainly rewarding. The servants who were given five and two talents, respectively, received their rewards and commended for their faithfulness. May you be found faithful and commended by God and Your superiors in Jesus’s name. Amen !
Faithful service may start with little things. So take the little opportunities that open up for you seriously. Faithful service may start with what is not your own, but serve faithfully. It may also start with handling worldly wealth, still be faithful so you can gain the true riches God has promised. Joseph started life in Egypt as a common slave but ended as the second in command to Pharaoh!
How faithful will you say you are? Do you serve according to the results you observe? Remember that fruit bearing is seasonal. Sometimes it will feel as if your efforts are being wasted and in vain. Remain faithful. Harvest time is coming and your reward awaits you.
Hebrews 6:9-11 NLT
[9] Dear friends, even though we are talking this way, we really don’t believe it applies to you. We are confident that you are meant for better things, things that come with salvation. [10] For God is not unjust. He will not forget how hard you have worked for him and how you have shown your love to him by caring for other believers, as you still do. [11] Our great desire is that you will keep on loving others as long as life lasts, in order to make certain that what you hope for will come true.
Friend, be a faithful servant!
