Wisdom: Verse of the Day

WISDOM:

Mark 6:1-3 NKJV
[1] Then He went out from there and came to His own country, and His disciples followed Him. [2] And when the Sabbath had come, He began to teach in the synagogue. And many hearing Him were astonished, saying, “Where did this Man get these things? And what wisdom is this which is given to Him, that such mighty works are performed by His hands! [3] Is this not the carpenter, the Son of Mary, and brother of James, Joses, Judas, and Simon? And are not His sisters here with us?” So they were offended at Him.

Wisdom is not an option to live by if we are to be Christ like, it is the principal thing! Like Christ, we must desire and grow in wisdom so that it is reflected in all aspects of our lives. For ministers and leaders, wisdom is a crucial element for success. That is why Solomon asked for and received wisdom with additional blessings (2 Chronicles 1:7-12).

Now, according to The New Open Bible, wisdom is “knowledge guided by understanding”. Wisdom, my friends, is the ability to provide impeccable solutions to challenges and the way such solutions are provided. It is the ability to know what to do in any given circumstances and how it is done. It is the way we think, reason, respond, and act. It is knowing the solutions to things, understanding the prevailing circumstances, and providing the appropriate action plans. Wisdom is critical to successful living.

Strangely, wisdom is not difficult at all to find. It comes by learning (Proverbs 1:1-7) and it actually reaches out to us!

Proverbs 1:20-23 NKJV
[20] Wisdom calls aloud outside; She raises her voice in the open squares. [21] She cries out in the chief concourses, At the openings of the gates in the city She speaks her words: [22] “How long, you simple ones, will you love simplicity? For scorners delight in their scorning, And fools hate knowledge. [23] Turn at my rebuke; Surely I will pour out my spirit on you; I will make my words known to you.

Wisdom is that easily available. Do you want to grow in wisdom? Just open your heart, make yourself available and teachable, and she will pour herself into you. Hallelujah!
