Favour with God: Verse of the Day

FAVOUR WITH GOD:

Luke 2:45-52 NKJV
[45] So when they did not find Him, they returned to Jerusalem, seeking Him. [46] Now so it was that after three days they found Him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the teachers, both listening to them and asking them questions. [47] And all who heard Him were astonished at His understanding and answers. [48] So when they saw Him, they were amazed; and His mother said to Him, “Son, why have You done this to us? Look, Your father and I have sought You anxiously.” [49] And He said to them, “Why did you seek Me? Did you not know that I must be about My Father’s business?” [50] But they did not understand the statement which He spoke to them. [51] Then He went down with them and came to Nazareth, and was subject to them, but His mother kept all these things in her heart. [52] And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men.

The Bible tells us that Jesus grew in wisdom, in stature, in FAVOUR WITH GOD, and in favour with man. Jesus Christ is not only our Saviour and Lord, He is also our prototype, our example, and the first amongst many brethren. Hallelujah!

Romans 8:28-29 NKJV
[28] And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. [29] For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren.

Everything that Christ became and did was intentional and deliberate. He grew in favour with God because He wanted to and sought God for it. It wasn’t automatic or by accident. He lived for it. If we want to grow in favour with God, we must seek for it.

Jeremiah 26:19 NKJV
[19] Did Hezekiah king of Judah and all Judah ever put him to death? Did he not fear the Lord and seek the Lord’s favor? And the Lord relented concerning the doom which He had pronounced against them. But we are doing great evil against ourselves.”

Those who find favour with God have His approval, support, and goodwill in all they do. They are careful to remain faithful and devoted to Him at all times.

If we are truly seeking God’s favour through our prayers, we must also live in ways that please Him (Hebrews 11:5), obey His word and instructions (John 15:7-10), and do good to others (Proverbs 12:2). Once we find and keep living in the favour of God, He will help us find success and victory all days of our lives. This is because His favour will last throughout our lifetime.

Psalms 30:5 NKJV
[5] For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for life; Weeping may endure for a night, But joy comes in the morning.
