Freedom from sin: Verse of the Day

FREEDOM FROM SIN:

‭Isaiah 53:5-6 NKJV‬
[5] But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed. [6] All we like sheep have gone astray; We have turned, every one, to his own way; And the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.

Jesus Christ paid a painful price for our redemption and freedom from sin and all its influences in our lives. The truth is that we are technically free from sin. It has lost its power over us and must no longer influence us. The only power it has is the power that we ourselves give it due to the desires of our fleshly nature.

The way to break that chain and live in the righteousness that God has purchased for us is through the process of dying to the flesh so that we can live the life of Christ, which is in righteousness. This process begins with understanding God’s word that we are freed from our sins, dead with Christ and the lives that we have now is the life of Christ, renewing our minds with these words (repentance), and asking the Holy Spirit to help us apply such truths to our lives, one at a time (Romans 6 & 12:1-2, Galatians 5:16-25).

When we find ourselves repenting constantly from one particular sin, we may need deliverance from that stronghold to be free. This will involve more intensive prayers, renunciation of that particular sin, and declarations of freedom through the power of the Holy Spirit. Very often assistance from anointed ministers for deliverance to be effective.

Beloved, we are saints, holy ones, according to the word of God (1 Corinthians 1:2, 2 Corinthians 1:1). Do our lives reflect who we truly are? Why do we sin so much without feeling guilty? Do you desire to be free from the sins that often plague you? We cannot live free of sin unless we desire to. We need to understand that we are saved from our sins to live in righteousness. This is the only true evidence that we are working out our salvation.

Friends, this is God’s Word to us ….

‭I John 3:7-9 NKJV‬
[7] Little children, let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous. [8] He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil. [9] Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God.
