Peace restored: Verse of the Day

PEACE RESTORED:

Isaiah 53:5-6 NKJV‬
[5] But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed. [6] All we like sheep have gone astray; We have turned, every one, to his own way; And the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.

The chastisement (punishment aimed at correction), discipline for our peace was placed upon Christ so that your peace and mine are restored. He is the Prince of peace and He came to bring peace on earth (Luke 2:11-14).

You can have peace in the midst of great challenges because the peace that Christ purchased and gives to all who believe in Him is not based on circumstances. It is peace that surpasses all understanding. He did this by first restoring our broken relationship with our Father and restoring peace between us (Colossians 1:20).

Are you feeling ashamed, guilty, tormented, restless, or afflicted emotionally and with self esteem issues? Are you feeling anxious and afraid? Don’t worry, Christ bore the punishment so that you can have peace. He is able to speak peace into that storm that is around you. Just call upon Him, trust Him, and follow His instructions.

Those who seek for peace and pursue it diligently will find peace (Psalm 34:14-15). There are two important scriptures we take hold of and never let go if we desire to have peace in our lives.

‭Matthew 11:28-30 NIV‬
[28] “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. [29] Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. [30] For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

‭Philippians 4:6-7 NIV‬
[6] Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. [7] And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

The only way to find lasting peace is to come to the Prince of peace.
