THE CHURCH:
Ephesians 1:22-23 NKJV
[22] And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church, [23] which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all.
The Church (universal) is the body of Christ. Jesus Christ is the head of the Church which is His body. God has put everything under the feet of Jesus Christ and we as His body are to enforce this. Christ fills the church with Himself, His power, knowledge, wisdom, gifts, and His Holy Spirit, so that can function like Him wherever we are.
The church comprises of all the saved, redeemed and called out ones for the whole world, from every nation, Language and tongue. So we being many and different to each other and in our abilities have become one in Christ (Galatians 3:28). Christ Himself positions us in a local church once we are saved.
Until we understand that we have been brought together by Christ to fulfill His purposes we will not make any effort to maintain the unity of the faith and function effectively as His body. Do you understand why you are where you are? Have you found your place in your local church? Are you committed to your local church and contributing your portion effectively?
Only those who understand and are committed to Christ and their local church make time to pray for each other, for souls to be saved, and reach out to the lost with the gospel. Beloved, let us be useful and fruitful where God has placed us.
