The strategy of a blessed man: Verse of the Day

THE STRATEGY OF A BLESSED MAN:

‭Genesis 41:33-36 NKJV‬
[33] “Now therefore, let Pharaoh select a discerning and wise man, and set him over the land of Egypt. [34] Let Pharaoh do this, and let him appoint officers over the land, to collect one-fifth of the produce of the land of Egypt in the seven plentiful years. [35] And let them gather all the food of those good years that are coming, and store up grain under the authority of Pharaoh, and let them keep food in the cities. [36] Then that food shall be as a reserve for the land for the seven years of famine which shall be in the land of Egypt, that the land may not perish during the famine.”

Joseph was a blessed man and everywhere he was, he prospered because God was with him and made everything he did successful. When he was with Potiphar, he prospered and God prospered Potiphar for his sake. Even in the prison he prospered and was in charge of all the prisoners. A blessed man who is discerning and wise will produce strategies that lead to success and prosperity.

When Pharaoh, King of Egypt, had dreams that he couldn’t understand and none of his astrologers and magicians couldn’t interpret, Joseph was recommended. When Joseph was brought out of prison, he shaved, dressed and made himself presentable to Pharaoh, ready for his next breakthrough in life.

Through the power of God, Joseph interpreted Pharaoh’s dreams and also provided strategic solutions. His solution was so good, Pharaoh put him in charge of the whole project, his household, and over his nation, only second in command to him! As a result of Joseph’s wise and diligent efforts Egypt stored one-fifth of all its products in the seven years of plenty and therefore prospered all through the seven years of famine. Plus he made Pharaoh very prosperous (Genesis 47:13-26).

What have you learned from the wisdom of Joseph? I think one single thing that all of us can learn and work towards is that there will be good times and bad times, so we must aim at saving at least one-fifth of all we earn. To consume all we earn and assume that we would be okay in hard times is folly. It is never too late to start working towards your Project one-fifth. It is your key to your future survival.

Two other lessons we learn from Joseph are that the gifts that God has blessed us with will make a way for us (Proverbs 18:16) and that the blessings of God will make us rich (Proverbs 10:22). A blessed and discerning person will always Serve his way into prosperity.

May the Lord enable you to be discerning and diligent in developing your gift and use it to serve others. May He bless you and enlarge you, so that your profiting will appear to all in Jesus’s name. Amen!
