How to discover your Gifts: Verse of the Day

HOW TO DISCOVER YOUR GIFTS:

‭‭I Corinthians 12:27-31 NKJV‬‬
[27] Now you are the body of Christ, and members individually. [28] And God has appointed these in the church: first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, administrations, varieties of tongues. [29] Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Are all workers of miracles? [30] Do all have gifts of healings? Do all speak with tongues? Do all interpret? [31] But earnestly desire the best gifts. And yet I show you a more excellent way.

God has assigned a place in the Church for every Believer and He has given each of us spiritual gifts to enable us function in these roles. It is our responsibility to discover and use these gifts for the benefit of all.

The first means of discovering the gifts you have is DESIRE. Which of the gifts of the Holy Spirit draws your heart whenever you read, hear about them, or see them in operation? It is likely you have the gifts that you feel most drawn to or see yourself moving in, in your dreams.

Secondly, consider which areas of ministry concern you most. If you are concerned about the many people you see around you and in church who are sick, and feel you ought to do something about it, you may have the gifts of healings.

Thirdly, what have you noticed when you pray for people? Which areas do you have success in? Are You good at encouraging and advising others? What do people say about you? Have they started calling you names like Prophet, Evangelist, miracle worker, etc ? These are all signs and indicators pointing you to your possible areas of gifting.

It is also possible to discover your gifts through impartation from an anointed minister (2 Timothy 1:5-6). In any case, once we give ourselves to constant prayers and ministering to people, we will begin to see these gifts in operation. It is through active pursuit of spiritual gifts and active service for Christ that we experience Him at work in us and through us.

Those who truly desire to discover the gifts of the Holy Spirit in their lives stay close to Christ and serve Him obediently.
