As it was in the beginning: Verse of the Day

Tongues of fire

AS IT WAS IN THE BEGINNING:

‭Acts 2:1-4 NKJV‬
[1] When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. [2] And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. [3] Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. [4] And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

The Church of Christ began with all the disciples in unity and one accord. For the Church to continue receiving a constant outpouring and manifestation of God’s power, there is the need for continued unity and one accordness. Several Verses of scripture attest to this fact.

On the day of Pentecost, when the Holy Spirit was initially poured out on the United disciples, three thousand souls were added to the church. Acts 2:40-47 records the new church continued united in fellowship, prayers, and in breaking of bread, and the Lord added to the church daily as many as were saved.

Again in Acts 4:23-31, when the church raised their voices with one accord in prayer, God poured out His Spirit upon them and they spoke the word of God with great boldness. Verse 32 continues,

‭Acts 4:32-33 NKJV‬
[32] Now the multitude of those who believed were of one heart and one soul; neither did anyone say that any of the things he possessed was his own, but they had all things in common. [33] And with great power the apostles gave witness to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And great grace was upon them all.

Church, do we want to experience more outpourings of the Holy Spirit? Do we truly want to declare the word of God with boldness? Do we want to experience more miracles, signs and wonders? Please, let us work diligently to achieve and maintain unity. It is only in the place of unity that God commands His blessings.
