The first Anointing: Verse of the Day

THE FIRST ANOINTING:

‭Acts 2:1-4 NKJV‬
[1] When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. [2] And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. [3] Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. [4] And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

On the day of Pentecost, as the faithful disciples waited on God with one accord, there was the sound of a mighty rushing wind that filled the upper room, where they were gathered. There also appeared cloven tongues of fire which divided and sat upon each of them. From very moment each person began to speak with tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance.

With this first Anointing, outpouring of God’s Spirit and power, the church (Body) of Christ was born. It is important to note that Jesus Christ, whose ministry was confined to the house of Israel (Matthew 15:24) will introduce His church to an international audience.

‭Acts 2:5-8 NKJV‬
[5] And there were dwelling in Jerusalem Jews, devout men, from every nation under heaven. [6] And when this sound occurred, the multitude came together, and were confused, because everyone heard them speak in his own language. [7] Then they were all amazed and marveled, saying to one another, “Look, are not all these who speak Galileans? [8] And how is it that we hear, each in our own language in which we were born?

Friends, unlike the ministry of Jesus, the ministry of the church is international. We must reach out in the power of the Holy Spirit to all nations. This is what that first Anointing is for. Let’s stop limiting ourselves. Let’s remember and be faithful to the words of our Saviour ……

‭Acts 1:8 NKJV‬
[8] But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

Praise the Lord!
