MAXIMIZING OUR GIFTS:
1 Corinthians 14:26 NLT
[26] Well, my brothers and sisters, let’s summarize. When you meet together, one will sing, another will teach, another will tell some special revelation God has given, one will speak in tongues, and another will interpret what is said. But everything that is done must strengthen all of you.
There is so much power of the Holy Spirit at work when we all use our gifts to strengthen each other. Every service and gathering of Believers must be organized in such a way that maximizes the use of our gifts. Remember Ephesians 4:14-16?
Ephesians 4:14-16 NLT
[14] Then we will no longer be immature like children. We won’t be tossed and blown about by every wind of new teaching. We will not be influenced when people try to trick us with lies so clever they sound like the truth. [15] Instead, we will speak the truth in love, growing in every way more and more like Christ, who is the head of his body, the church. [16] He makes the whole body fit together perfectly. As each part does its own special work, it helps the other parts grow, so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love.
What you bring into the service, whether it is a song, word of encouragement, word of knowledge, healing, or a poem strengthens the other parts of the body. If the church is weak today, it is because only a few have captured the stage, so other gifts that are needed to strengthen those gathered in that particular service cannot operate. You need my gift and I need your gift.
What are you bringing into the service today to strengthen the body? Have you prepared your heart in prayer and in the word to ensure that what you have to share is encouraging, comforting, educative, strengthening, and above all, God glorifying?
All things must be done decently and in order to maximize the use of our gifts to strengthen the Body of Christ, the Church, for global impact!
