THE OUTPOURING OF THE HOLY SPIRIT:
Acts 2:1-4 NKJV
[1] When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. [2] And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. [3] Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. [4] And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
Where there is unity and one accord, God pours out the blessing of His Holy Spirit and presence upon His people. Where there is envy and strife, all sorts of evil and confusion thrive (James 3:16). It is important therefore that we make every effort to create that atmosphere of unity and one accord to allow the Spirit of God to move.
The Bible says that on the day of Pentecost, the disciples were with ONE ACCORD in the upper room praying, when they heard the sound of a mighty rushing wind, cloven tongues of fire appeared, divided and sat upon each of them, they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance. Where there is unity and united focused effort the Holy spirit will always move.
Again, in Acts 4:23-31, as disciples raised their voices with ONE ACCORD and prayed after the release of Peter and John, the whole place where they were gathered was shaken, they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness.
