THE LORD OF PEACE:
Hebrews 13:20-21 NKJV
[20] Now may the God of peace who brought up our Lord Jesus from the dead, that great Shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, [21] make you complete in every good work to do His will, working in you what is well pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.
God is the LORD of peace and His greatest desire is that His children, those in His kingdom, would live in peace and promote peace wherever they are. He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to bring peace on earth and to reconcile (make peace) us to God. To be a child of God is to be at peace with God, with yourself, and to do your best to be at peace with all men (Romans 12:18).
God’s kingdom is a kingdom of peace. He gives each of His children peace beyond understanding (Isaiah 9:6-7 & John 14:23-27). He does this through His Holy Spirit, who works in us by equipping us completely with everything we need to do His will and to live in ways that are pleasing to Him. If you have these in place in your life, divine peace will be your portion.
Do you have peace in your life? Are you surrounded by chaos and disruption? Are you worried about many things? This is what the God of peace says to you this morning:
Philippians 4:6-7 NKJV
[6] Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; [7] and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
