Know that God is with you: Verse of the Day

KNOW THAT GOD IS WITH YOU:

Matthew 14:25-32 NIV
[25] Shortly before dawn Jesus went out to them, walking on the lake. [26] When the disciples saw him walking on the lake, they were terrified. “It’s a ghost,” they said, and cried out in fear. [27] But Jesus immediately said to them: “Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.” [28] “Lord, if it’s you,” Peter replied, “tell me to come to you on the water.” [29] “Come,” he said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. [30] But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!” [31] Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. “You of little faith,” he said, “why did you doubt?” [32] And when they climbed into the boat, the wind died down.

When Peter stepped out of the boat to walk on water, it was for him to be with his Master as He walked on the lake. It was no wonder then that Christ was able to stretch out His hand to save Peter. He was on the water before Peter stepped out of the boat, with him when he nearly sank in the boisterous lake, and with him in the boat after.

God is always with those who step out in faith at His word. Living by faith is having God constantly by your side. Situations around you may be constantly changing, but the only person who will remain unchanging and constantly by your side is God. Those who live by faith have no need to fear because of God’s presence.

This is God’s promise to those who believe in Him and continue to demonstrate their belief in Him by living by faith.

Isaiah 43:1-4 NIV
[1] But now, this is what the Lord says— he who created you, Jacob, he who formed you, Israel: “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine. [2] When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze. [3] For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior; I give Egypt for your ransom, Cush and Seba in your stead. [4] Since you are precious and honored in my sight, and because I love you, I will give people in exchange for you, nations in exchange for your life.

Beloved, let us learn to live by faith.
