The Lord who provides: Verse of the Day

THE LORD WHO PROVIDES:

Matthew 6:5-8 NKJV‬‬
[5] “And when you pray, you shall not be like the hypocrites. For they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the corners of the streets, that they may be seen by men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward. [6] But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly. [7] And when you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathen do. For they think that they will be heard for their many words. [8] “Therefore do not be like them. For your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him.

God cares a lot about us. He sees the struggles we go through when it comes to trusting Him to provide for us. So, He speaks to us constantly, through His word, to trust Him to provide for us. Our scriptures today tell us that God knows our needs even before we ask Him, so, we should be confident and direct when we come to Him in prayer.

When Abraham was on his way with Isaac to sacrifice him (Isaac) to God on the mountain, Isaac asked him, “Look, the fire and the wood, but where is the lamb for a burnt offering”? Abraham’s response was, “My son, God will provide (Jireh) for Himself the lamb for a burnt offering”. Meaning, THE GOD WHO SEES, WILL SEE TO IT (will make PROVISION). God indeed saw the faithfulness of Abraham and provided a ram for the sacrifice. Can you trust Him to do the same for you?

As a servant of God, I have been tempted several times to neglect the call of God in my life, to go and pursue material wealth instead. I have realized that each time I persevered and chosed to loved God, I was abundantly provided for. God’s gift and grace upon my life increases and touches more lives, and God blesses me. Many of us love making money more than pursuing the call of God upon their lives. This is very dangerous (1 Timothy 6:6-10).

Today, Jehovah Jireh, the LORD who sees and provides, is telling you, I know exactly what you need because I see you and what you are going through, and I will provide for you. Have confidence in me and believe in me when you ask me for your needs in prayer and I will provide for you. Will you choose to believe in Him? If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes (Mark 9:23)!
