Show me your glory?: Verse of the Day

SHOW ME YOUR GLORY?:

‭Exodus 33:18-23 NKJV‬
[18] And he said, “Please, show me Your glory.” [19] Then He said, “I will make all My goodness pass before you, and I will proclaim the name of the Lord before you. I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.” [20] But He said, “You cannot see My face; for no man shall see Me, and live.” [21] And the Lord said, “Here is a place by Me, and you shall stand on the rock. [22] So it shall be, while My glory passes by, that I will put you in the cleft of the rock, and will cover you with My hand while I pass by. [23] Then I will take away My hand, and you shall see My back; but My face shall not be seen.”

Moses asked God to show him His glory. Why? Moses had asked and been assured of God’s presence with them on their journey through the wilderness to their promised land. So, Moses asked God to show him His glory, meaning how would I know you are the one with us. Show me something, show me your glory.

Now, I believe the glory of God is the essence of His presence and who He is. God’s glory is what happens in His presence. The things He does for us to know that He is around. So God told Moses, “I will make my goodness pass before you, and I will proclaim the name of the LORD before you. I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.”

Friends, when we experience God’s goodness, the power in His name, His graciousness and compassion, we are seeing God’s glory. We know He is present and He is at work. No need to see His face because no one can see His face and live.

Do you want to see God’s glory? Well, God’s glory can only be seen and experienced where He is present. What have you done or are doing to acknowledge and honour His presence in your life and in your fellowship with other believers? When we create the right atmosphere in our lives and wherever we are, His presence and glory will be made manifest.

Those who experience God’s glory acknowledge His presence, sanctify themselves and walk in unity. Will you pursue these? His glory awaits you.
