He is alive!: Verse of the Day

HE IS ALIVE!:

‭Matthew 28:1-7 NKJV‬
[1] Now after the Sabbath, as the first day of the week began to dawn, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to see the tomb. [2] And behold, there was a great earthquake; for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat on it. [3] His countenance was like lightning, and his clothing as white as snow. [4] And the guards shook for fear of him, and became like dead men. [5] But the angel answered and said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. [6] He is not here; for He is risen, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay. [7] And go quickly and tell His disciples that He is risen from the dead, and indeed He is going before you into Galilee; there you will see Him. Behold, I have told you.”

Jesus rose from the dead over two thousand years ago and He is still alive. On the first day of the week, after His burial, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary who had observed when he was placed in the tomb came to see the tomb (Matthew 27:57-61).

As they were there, an angel descended from heaven, rolled back the sealed and secured stone that covered the entrance of the tomb, and sat on it. While the guards shook and became like dead men with fear, the angel turned to the women and told them not to be afraid. He further told them that he knew why they were there, that they were looking for Jesus who was crucified.

The angel went on to tell them, “He is risen, as He. Come, see the place where the Lord lay”. The angel told the ladies to go quickly and tell the disciples that He had risen from the dead and that He was going ahead of them into Galilee. Jesus rose from the dead. An empty sealed tomb proved that no amount of security could keep Him in the tomb.

Had it not been for the angel who descended from heaven to show the women that Jesus had risen, the guards would have stood there guarding an empty tomb! Friends, God is not a man to lie. Whatever He has promised, that is what He would do, and nothing can stop Him (Numbers 23:19).

Jesus rose up from the dead to prove that He was the Son of God (Romans 1:4), and if He is alive, it means that He is capable and will fulfill every promise He has made to us. If Christ rose from the dead it means that we will also rise up again from the dead. Hallelujah!
