DIVERSE GIFTS, ONE SPIRIT:
1 Corinthians 12:4-7 NLT
[4] There are different kinds of spiritual gifts, but the same Spirit is the source of them all. [5] There are different kinds of service, but we serve the same Lord. [6] God works in different ways, but it is the same God who does the work in all of us. [7] A spiritual gift is given to each of us so we can help each other.
God is the master of unity in diversity. He is the only one who is able to bring together people from different nations, cultures and dispositions in life to one place to live in unity. He also gives different gifts to different people to accomplish one task. If we are to walk effectively in our gifts, we have got to understand that this theme of Unified Diversity is carried on even in the manifestation of the gifts in our lives.
The same gift in one person may operate differently in another but it is through the same Holy Spirit. We may have the same gift but we will use them to serve God and others differently. The way I administer the gift of word of knowledge when ministering to others may be different to yours, but it is the same Spirit. God is okay with it. Its okay to yield totally to the Holy Spirit and let Him use you in His own way, because you are unique.
Friends, the truth is that the same gift will operate differently in an Apostle, a Pastor or an Evangelist, but we must make no mistake in thinking that because there are differences in operations, one may not be the Holy Spirit in action. We must trust the Holy Spirit to help us to discern wisely. And we must definitely not fight each other because the Holy Spirit is doing different things with us.
We must never be ignorant of the Holy Spirit and how He operates in the Body of Christ. It is only when the Holy Spirit is able to move freely in the church that the lordship and power of Christ will be made manifest and visible to all.
