Chosen by God: Verse of the Day

‭Joshua 1:1-6 NLT‬
[1] After the death of Moses the Lord’s servant, the Lord spoke to Joshua son of Nun, Moses’ assistant. He said, [2] “Moses my servant is dead. Therefore, the time has come for you to lead these people, the Israelites, across the Jordan River into the land I am giving them. [3] I promise you what I promised Moses: ‘Wherever you set foot, you will be on land I have given you— [4] from the Negev wilderness in the south to the Lebanon mountains in the north, from the Euphrates River in the east to the Mediterranean Sea in the west, including all the land of the Hittites.’ [5] No one will be able to stand against you as long as you live. For I will be with you as I was with Moses. I will not fail you or abandon you. [6] “Be strong and courageous, for you are the one who will lead these people to possess all the land I swore to their ancestors I would give them.

God chose and called Joshua to lead His people into the land He had promised them. He said to Joshua “ Be strong and courageous, for you are the one who will lead these people to possess all the land I swore to their ancestors I would give them.” with God on his side, Joshua accomplished his task. Beloved, God has chosen you and I and entrusted us with many tasks in our lives, His church, and in His kingdom.

We need to be strong and courageous because God, the creator, has chosen us to work with Him. We must not think that others can do the job. God says you and I are the ones He needs and has chosen to do His work. We must be bold and courageous because He is also with us to ensure that we are not hindered in any way, until we have accomplished our tasks.

David was able to fight Goliath and defeat him because he knew he was the one God had chosen to accomplish that task. Mordecai told Esther to help her people because God might have placed her in the Palace for a time like that. Esther played the most important role in helping preserve her people. God has chosen you and I, gifted us and positioned us to serve.

Are you faithfully serving your family, church, community, and nation? Do you know you are the only one who has been chosen, gifted, and anointed to perform certain tasks? Do you know that no-one else can do those things as well as you do them because you are the one? Are you faithfully and diligently working on the things entrusted to you?

This morning God is saying to you, be bold, strong, and courageous because…

‭John 15:16-17 NKJV‬
[16] You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you. [17] These things I command you, that you love one another.
