THE LORD HAS NEED OF YOU:
Matthew 21:2-5 NLT
[2] “Go into the village over there,” he said. “As soon as you enter it, you will see a donkey tied there, with its colt beside it. Untie them and bring them to me. [3] If anyone asks what you are doing, just say, ‘The Lord needs them,’ and he will immediately let you take them.” [4] This took place to fulfill the prophecy that said, [5] “Tell the people of Jerusalem, ‘Look, your King is coming to you. He is humble, riding on a donkey— riding on a donkey’s colt.’”
Beloved, God has plans for us. It is for these reasons that He created us and caused us to be born. When that time comes, He makes demands on us and stirs our hearts with desires for His plans for our lives. The donkey and its colt were in God’s plans! The Bible says in Psalms 139:16-18 NLT
[16] You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed. [17] How precious are your thoughts about me, O God. They cannot be numbered! [18] I can’t even count them; they outnumber the grains of sand! And when I wake up, you are still with me!
Beloved, just as God sent for that donkey and its colt, He is calling out to you and I. I don’t know if Jesus had made arrangements with the owners of these donkeys or not, but one thing is certain. They willingly let them take the donkeys! They knew that if the Lord had a need for those donkeys, they had to release them because they considered it a win-win situation. They knew they would be blessed and rewarded bountifully by the Lord for the use of the donkeys.
Beloved, when there is a need around you and in your Church, don’t resist to be used by God to meet that need. You might be the next Joseph, Nehemiah, Peter, Paul, or the donkey’s colt for Jesus to ride on in triumph! To be a vessel for God’s use will always be a win-win situation. God is faithful. He will never fail you. He will come through for you. He will bless you, increase you, and promote you if you will yield to His call upon your life. The Lord needs you. Will you say yes, Lord, Let your will be done in my life as it is written in your books?
