The Glory Returns: Verse of the Day

THE GLORY RETURNS:

‭I Kings 8:5-11 NKJV‬
[5] Also King Solomon, and all the congregation of Israel who were assembled with him, were with him before the ark, sacrificing sheep and oxen that could not be counted or numbered for multitude. [6] Then the priests brought in the ark of the covenant of the Lord to its place, into the inner sanctuary of the temple, to the Most Holy Place, under the wings of the cherubim. [7] For the cherubim spread their two wings over the place of the ark, and the cherubim overshadowed the ark and its poles. [8] The poles extended so that the ends of the poles could be seen from the holy place, in front of the inner sanctuary; but they could not be seen from outside. And they are there to this day. [9] Nothing was in the ark except the two tablets of stone which Moses put there at Horeb, when the Lord made a covenant with the children of Israel, when they came out of the land of Egypt. [10] And it came to pass, when the priests came out of the holy place, that the cloud filled the house of the Lord, [11] so that the priests could not continue ministering because of the cloud; for the glory of the Lord filled the house of the Lord.
Today’s Devotional gives us more details of the events recorded in 2 Chronicles 5, which we covered in day 1 of this week’s Devotional. The glory of God returned into the temple Solomon built and took center stage in the midst of His people.

When the Ark of the covenant was placed in the Most Holy Place in the temple, as instructed by God, the cloud filled the HOUSE OF THE LORD and the glory (Shechinah) of the LORD filled the HOUSE OF THE LORD! God was pleased with all that Solomon had led His people to do.

Today, our bodies are the temples of the LORD (1 Corinthians 6:15-20). The glory that man lost when Adam sinned has returned to its place and God is pleased. Do you know that you must keep your body the MOST HOLY PLACE? Do you hallow and revere God’s presence in your life?

Listen, my friends, the only thing in the Ark of covenant were the two tablets with the ten commandments written on them. Have you made God’s WORD the centerpiece of your life? How much of God’s word do you value and obey? Those who make fellowship with the Holy Spirit and obeying the word of God their top priorities in life will definitely experience God’s presence and power. As the Bible says …….

Ecclesiastes 8:4 NKJV‬
[4] Where the word of a king is, there is power; And who may say to him, “What are you doing?”

Do you love God? Keep His commandments!
