THE WORD BECAME FLESH:
John 1:1-4, 14 NLT
[1] In the beginning the Word already existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God. [2] He existed in the beginning with God. [3] God created everything through him, and nothing was created except through him. [4] The Word gave life to everything that was created, and his life brought light to everyone.
[14] So the Word became human and made his home among us. He was full of unfailing love and faithfulness. And we have seen his glory, the glory of the Father’s one and only Son.
God’s glory is seen in everything that God does, and yes, through what He does through chosen human vessels (Believers). Jesus Christ came to demonstrate this. Jesus (the Word) was there in the beginning. He was with God, was God (please understand the triune nature of God – God the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit), and became human to live amongst men.
We saw His glory, the glory of the only begotten of the Father. Jesus (the Word in human) was in a sense a prototype (the first amongst many brethren – Romans 8:29-30) to show us how any individual who believes and is born of God should be like (John 1:12-13, 1 Peter 1:23). His glory that He demonstrated for us to see was UNFAILING LOVE and FAITHFULNESS or GRACE and TRUTH, as some the NKJV puts it.
When Christ healed, raised the dead, fed multitudes, and taught the Truth, He was demonstrating God’s unfailing love and faithfulness. That is why the people rejoiced by giving glory to God. Today, God presence may not be demonstrated often with a cloud or a pillar of fire but through the good deeds and miracles that are done in His name and through the power of the Holy Spirit in us.
Beloved, Christ came to show us the hidden potential in every Believer. We must work hard to allow God’s glory to be seen through us. Jesus Christ wants you and I to be like Him so that we can reflect God’s glory (Ephesians 4:13). This is what the Bible also says….
John 1:16-18 NKJV
[16] And of His fullness we have all received, and grace for grace. [17] For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. [18] No one has seen God at any time. The only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him.
And
I John 3:2 NKJV
[2] Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is.
Are you born of God? Are you a Believer? This is what you are born again to be. This is what God wants you to be. He wants His glory to be seen through you.
